The Abandoned Tower is currently the stronghold of the leader of the Alchemists, Marduk. It has been sealed for over an indeterminate amount of time, but Marduk has an as yet unrevealed means of entering and leaving the Tower at will. It is said that the Key of Power and the power of the four Spectral Keepers is required in order to break the seal on the Tower and grant access. The Key of Power was hidden by the Keeper Master over 400 years ago, and no one knows where it is.
The entrance to the Tower lies beyond the Mystical Workshop.
Storyline[]
[Warning: Spoilers Ahead]
Arriving at the entrance to the tower, the four spectral keepers are able to open the seal despite only two still retaining their familiars. After exploring the tower for a while, Julia notes that it is odd that they have seen no sign of the alchemists. Shortly after the alchemists make their appearance, explaining that they had lied about Marduk being sealed within the tower so the keepers would open the seal for them. When asked where Marduk was really hiding, the man they thought was Eric reveals himself to be Marduk, having ambushed, murdered, and taken on the appearance of Eric twenty-five years ago in the Magma Chamber, as he had done to many other keepers, hiding in plain sight.
Following this, Ostanes and Vallalar attempt to capture the player's familiar, but fail, while Chymes captures Julia's familiar. Further up the tower, the player then defeats Zosimos after an solemn acknowledgment of each other's strength and unshakeable ideals, and then a battle against Chymes. Despite victory against Chymes the stolen familiars are taken further up the tower, with the two alchemist merely having bought Marduk time.
At the top, the other three familiars are trapped in a strange device, with Marduk revealing that this tower is actually the Genesis Chamber, which with all four spectral familiars can tap into and use the same magic, that created the Sanctuary and sealed it within its own miniature world, to alter the very nature of the sanctuary as the user sees fit, with Marduk intending to turn it into a weapon to wield against the Old World, and possibly even tamper with the natural balance of the old world itself. In battle however, Marduk fails to capture the last familiar, and asks his "Master" for strength before passing out. The Mad Lord then emerges from Marduk's body and fights the player himself before being defeated as well. Even then it takes the combined power of all four spectral keepers and familiars to permanently defeat the demon, though the Mad Lord telepathically states that he will find a way to return and take over this world. Following this Marduk awakens, and being freed from the demon's influence after three hundred years, appears to express some regret over his actions, explaining how he encountered the Mad Lord and voluntarily hands himself over for trial and punishment for his crimes.

Up first is Ostanes and Vallalar double-teaming you.

|
In addition to his opening 3 monsters, Chymes uses all 3 of the Spectral Familiars that you did not choose at the start of the game, all dark-shifted.
And, at the very top, we face off against Marduk, the final boss of the game.

After that, you face off against the real final boss, Mad Lord.

On the right side of the tower the player can find a long pit with gusts of wind throughout the entire room. During the trek up the tower the player will encounter Leonard standing in front of the pit. The player needs the Lofty Mount ability to make it over. The reward is a Buckler.
