The Blind Starseer is the creator of the tome of demons, Ahrimaaya.
The Forgotten Nation of the Blind Starseer[]
Not much is known about the Blind Starseer. A visit by an Aazerach robbed her of her eyesight, but allowed her to peer into other worlds. She used these visions to write the Ahrimaaya, the one and only true tome of demons: a cursed treasure trove of knowledge on a variety of Occult-type Monsters. Tragically, a horrible fate soon befell the Blind Starseer, her entire nation, and almost anyone else in the Old World who could read the language that the Ahrimaaya was written in. This myriad of lethal strokes of fate was likely caused by other Aazerachs that tried to prevent the spreading of the Blind Starseer's forbidden knowledge. Only a fraction of the knowledge hidden within the Ahrimaaya has become known to us as a result.
The nation that the Blind Starseer grew up in had just barely managed to avoid destruction a few years prior to her birth. The Dragon Empress's conquest had hit her nation particularly hard. It's peculiar that, even though the birth town of the Blind Starseer was right on the trail of destruction that the Dragon Empress left behind, it was left spared. Even today it provides some of the most well-preserved architecture of that nation.
It is said that it was an Asura of all things that stepped up to the task to defend the town from the Dragonlords. It managed to chase away the Dragonlords for good, but sacrificed itself in the process. As an Occult-type being with alleged ties to the divine, perhaps the Asura had a supernatural insight into the role that the Blind Starseer would play in the fate of this world. After all, the Ahrimaaya warns us of a multitude of demonic beings and otherworldly empires inside and outside of our world, which seem to view our world only as another realm to be conquered.
