Bio[]
Elderjels are the only living biological entities in our world that are able to reverse their own aging process. Once they reach the final phase of their life cycle, the cells in their body undergo a miraculous process, which puts the Elderjel back into an earlier stage of its life. They can do this an indefinite number of times, even when they are injured or starving.
History[]
The ancient tome of demons, Ahrimaaya, clearly documents the history of the Elderjels. They came from another world and ruled the Earth from underwater palaces for eons, long before humankind developed. They fought a great war against Great Graamu and his spawn, during which the servants the Elderjels had created rebelled against them. Their empire crumbled, but not before they managed to land a decisive strike against Great Graamu: they banished his mind into an unending dream, cursing him to never wake and walk this world again.
Acquisition[]
Elderjel is a Champion Monster in the Horizon Beach. You can obtain its egg by achieving a 5-star rating and only once per playthrough. Click here for more details!
After you save Leonard from a pit, he will help open the entrance of the treasure cave along with Julia. Keep moving forward, and you will come across them again. Julia spots an Elderjel and mentions they can become powerful over time. Leonard's Familiar suggests you battle it as they still owe you for helping them, which Leonard reluctantly permits but not Julia. You must defeat her in a Keeper Duel before she lets you battle the Elderjel.
It can also be obtained from Reward Box lvl 4.

Trivia[]
- Elderjel has some similarities with Cyrax, the final boss from Insaniquarium. Both:
- are extraterrestrial beings based on an aquatic animal.
- have similar body shape with tentacles and visible organs.
- are bosses that you fight underwater.
- Elderjel's Bio may be a reference to the Turritopsis dohrnii, also known as the immortal jellyfish.
- Elderjel's design is based on the Elder Thing, a fictional cosmic entity originally devised by author H. P. Lovecraft.
- Its History is also a direct reference to the Elder Thing.
- Elderjel's name is a portmanteau of the words elder (from Elder Thing) and jellyfish.
