Monster Design Contests were contests where the community could submit their Monster ideas for the game. Moi Rai held a total of six different Monster Design Contests. The first five contests were for the members of backers of the Kickstarter (or the late PayPal backers) who donated at a certain tier. Non-members were also allowed to enter by collaborating with the backer members. The sixth contest was announced after the Forgotten World DLC announcement and was open to anyone.
At the end of the submission period, the community can vote for the submitted entries they would like to see appear in the game. Once the voting period ends, the developers will choose at least one more entry (entries that weren't already winning) as the Developers' Pick winner(s). The winners would then be revealed. Only the backer members could vote during the first five contests, whereas the sixth contest allowed anyone registered to vote. Each contest had a minimum of three winners, and all of those designs made it into the game proper.
First Contest[]
The first contest ran from December 10th, 2018 until February 20th, 2019.

Second Contest[]
The second contest ran from April 1st, 2019 until May 8th, 2019.

The third contest ran from August 1st, 2019 until September 23, 2019.

Fourth Contest[]
The fourth contest ran from November 15th, 2019 until January 11th, 2020.

Fifth Contest[]
The fifth contest ran from February 29th, 2020 until April 5th, 2020.

Sixth Contest[]
The sixth contest ran from September 7th, 2021 until October 15th, 2021. Unlike previous contests, this contest was open to anyone (one entry per person) but only 30 of these entries are picked by the developers for voting. Furthermore, this contest also includes a 3rd place winner and a second Dev Pick. The timeline of the contest is shown below:
- September 7th to October 5th, 2021 - Design submission.
- September 7th to October 8th,2021 - Registration for voting.
- October 5th to October 8th, 2021 - The developers choose 30 out of 177 Monster entries.
- October 8th, 2021 - The 30 finalists are revealed (finalists can be seen here).
- October 9th to October 15th, 2021 - Registered people can vote for up to 5 Monsters.
- October 16th, 2021 - Winners are revealed.
