Bio[]
Nautilids bear their name due to their superficial similarity to the marine mollusc nautilus. However, they are closer related to squids. They are blue-blooded, have multiple hearts and they may shoot clouds of ink to blind their foes, although they also developed a set of other defense mechanisms that aid them against all types of predators. Its "face" is more like a mask: a thick, bony plate which protects the Nautilid's actual face. When it wants to eat, it has to slightly lift up its mask.
History[]
According to ancient scriptures, the Nautilids were bio-engineered by the Elderjels - same as the crab-like Ucans were. They came into being after Great Graamu entered our world with his spawn army - Grummies and G'rulus. Same as the Elderjels, the G'rulus created vast underwater cities and palaces, and they too strove for the dominion of our world. Great Graamu was able to bend the minds of many ocean Monsters to his will to use as foot soldiers, and so the Elderjels created a breed of foot soldiers for their own armies: the Nautilids. However, this is ancient history - the Elderjels aren't what they once were and the Nautilids haven't been their thralls for millions of years.
