Icon relics of chaos

Relics of Chaos is a game mode that adds a new type of equipment to the game called "Relics". Relics of Chaos mode can only be played on a completely fresh file or New Game+. Once activated, this game mode cannot be deactivated. Relics of Chaos can be played alongside other game modes. By default, most of the game modes are unlocked once the player defeats the final boss. The player can also manually turn on the "Advanced Game Modes" option while in the main menu to access these game modes.

Relic chests are chests exclusive to Relics of Chaos. A random chest in every area is replaced by a Relic chest, which contains a random Relic along with the original chest content. The game seed determines which Relic can obtained from each area and from which chest. Relics can also be obtained from Reward Boxes.

Relics[]

Relics are equipment with powerful effects but have some drawbacks or restrictions. These drawbacks and restrictions may include:
  • Lower Attack and Magic values compared to most other weapons of the same level.
  • Decreases the Monster's stats. Passives that increase stats from equipment do not affect negative values.
  • The Monster takes increased damage from opposing attacks.
  • Can only be equipped by certain Monsters or Monster types.

Relics can be obtained from Relic chests, which can be found in every area. Additional copies can be obtained from the Arena Coupon Trader in the Infinity Arena after reaching Keeper Master or Reward Boxes. Each Relic costs two Arena Coupons.

Unlike normal equipment, Relics do not use crafting materials for upgrading but instead use other consumable items, such as Potions, Level Badges and foods. All Relics are removed if the player attempts to play New Game+ without activating Relics of Chaos. Therefore, make sure the game mode is turned on if you want to keep all your Relics.

If a Monster holding a Monster type Relic evolves into a Monster which loses a Monster type (i.e. Glowdra losing Aerial), any associated Monster type Relics are returned to the inventory. This is also the case for Gray Pearl and Grey Stone when a Monster is Shifted while holding the equipment.

PvP[]

Relics are not allowed in PvP matchmaking but can be enabled in private PvP lobbies (this does mean that XBox players are unable to use Relics in PvP as there is no private matchmaking). If Relics are enabled in a private lobby, all Monsters take 25% less damage overall.

Changes[]

Below is a list of changes when Relics of Chaos is active:
  • A random chest in each area will be replaced by a Relic chest, which gives the original content of the chest and a random Relic. Which chest and Relic it is, depends on the seed.
    • Chests that are normally accessible on the first visit are chosen on most cases.
    • Chests containing key items or costumes cannot be chosen.
    • A total of 13 Relics can be obtained from Relic chests.
  • Reward Boxes have Relics as possible rewards.
  • The Arena Coupon Trader in the Infinity Arena sells all the Relics for two Arena Coupons each after reaching Keeper Master.
